HiVEP research presented at the CO2 Reduction for Transportation Systems Conference in Turin!

On 9 June, Christof Schernus presented our paper, “Passenger Car Powertrain for Voltages Above 800V”, introducing the HiVEP project’s approach to next-generation high-voltage EV powertrains.

The paper presents HiVEP’s objectives, methodology and key innovations for mass-market electric vehicles – from SiC-based power electronics and rare-earth-free electric machines to high C-rate batteries and optimised thermal management.

⚡With targets including sub-10-minute fast charging, 25% lower energy consumption, 20% increased driving range and up to 20% lower powertrain costs at volume production, HiVEP is exploring how >800 V architectures can help shape the next generation of electric mobility.
