The transition to climate-neutral road transport requires coordinated research and innovation across the European mobility value chain.

HiVEP is part of the 2Zero co-programmed partnership, which aims to accelerate the development of energy-efficient and affordable zero-tailpipe-emission road vehicles and their cost-effective charging infrastructure.

By developing and demonstrating an integrated high-voltage (>800 V) electric powertrain for mass-market C-segment vehicles, HiVEP contributes directly to several priorities of the 2Zero Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda:

More energy-efficient and affordable electric vehicles through advanced power electronics, electric machines, batteries, thermal management, and control strategies.

Faster and more user-friendly charging, with HiVEP targeting charging times below 10 minutes while maintaining compatibility with existing infrastructure.

Improved environmental performance through lower energy consumption, resource-efficient design, and rare-earth-free electric machine concepts.

Greater European competitiveness through cost reduction, scalable technologies, and high-volume manufacturability.

By connecting research and industry across Europe, HiVEP and the wider 2Zero project community are helping translate shared research priorities into practical technologies for cleaner, more efficient, and more accessible road mobility.
